You are on tiger still? Is there anything that a grateful Quicksilver user can do to change that?
(And, entirely out of self-interest, /maybe/ make development go faster? (-:)

Quicksilver b56a4 ceartainly works the best so far for me (on an intel with leopard). Quite stable and blazingly fast. Some of the plugins are still wonky—regardless I greatly appreciate the work so far.
Thanks

Apple needs to buy Quicksilver

I am trying to build the project from svn, and it seems to be missing two files:
NSImage+QuickLook.h
NSImage+QuickLook.m
Could someone add those (and any other MIA files) to the repository and post a notice here? (Or correct my misunderstanding of Xcode?)
Thanks!

I can’t make it index my XCode directory. If I try to start XCode it only brings up the .dmg file I have under ~/Downloads, not the XCode bundle.

and any other MIA files to the repository and post a notice here. (Or correct my misunderstanding of Xcode?) I’d love to have a compilable version of Quicksilver to play with (and I know I’m not the only one waiting). Thanks!

Forgive the newbie question (I just found this site and realized that QS was not abandoned after all!), but the newest builds of QS, how do they run on Leopard? And, should I be uninstalling the old QS and fresh installing the most recent version at Google Code or should I simply install from there and let the code overwrite the old Blacktree version?
Many thanks to Ankur for all the hard work!

Oh, sweeeet! The new build from a few days ago is much, much faster than I’ve gotten used to. It crashed on launch until I got rid of all the old prefs, so I’m having to rebuild my precious trigger collection, but it’s worth every minute…
Thanks, Ankur.

Perhaps I’m just an idiot, but…the latest Google Code version is the buggiest software I have ever used. I cannot get QS to stop crashing on me. I deleted the old QS from my computer using Appzapper (so I am fairly sure all of the .plist files and cache went with it), I installed the newest version and it crashes every time I try to install the plug ins. And when I mean ever time, I mean every time. And, it cannot even re-start itself; it just crashes again at re-launch. Once it crashes, it becomes completely unusable. Is anyone else having this problem? And recommendations?

@Eddie - Yeah, I had the exact same problem! The only way I could get any of the recent builds (54 / 56) to work at all was to uncheck all the plugins/modules on install. But it was completely useless because the module that made it start crashing was the Finder one!
I can’t give any recommendations, but at least we know you’re not alone. I’ve also been wondering if people using these new builds are all on Leopard? I’m running Tiger 10.4.11 on a 1.83GHz Core Duo Mac Mini with 1gig ram.

Hello!
Very nice to see Quicksilver development happening. I have a license question; the project is released under the Apache 2.0 License. Now the images/icons coming with Quicksilver, I guess they should be under the same license but nothing is said about it and just to be sure, do you know? Which license are they released under for reuse? Like the rocket, the action gearwheel and others? Thank you for developing on quicksilver!
Hmm. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, b56a7 is exhibiting a weird behavior. When I activate (command-space), Quicksilver only appears in the first of my six Spaces desktops, no matter which desktop I activate from.

Leave a commentI’ve been interested in jumping into Quicksilver’s code for a while, but it seems pretty intimidating to me. Is the “old” branch still fairly active?

Unfortunately the state of Quicksilver is quite bad.

Just don’t know where to start looking in the code.
