Old post alert! See the heavily updated Fumo here.
Development is still going, but the finished product will probably only faintly resemble the mock-ups, unless Quicksilver goes open source.
vs.
You can Download Fumo to see how its turning out, and to provide some much-needed feedback.
Features currently added include some pretty stunning animation effects for entry / exit of the interface. (Activate in text mode is also pretty sweet).
There are some very cool animation in this, which utilize Core Graphics APIs, so it really should be a bezel and cube-killer once its ready to be released.

Leave a commentHey, I think you Fumo interface turns out pretty good. I love some of the effects you did
But unfortunatly I’m keeping my Menu interface. I love it coz’ it’s so out of the way that i don’t need to see it if i don’t want to.

Thanks Kenneth. I sometimes like to use the Spotlight interface for the same reason, though these days I’m using the still-in-development versions of Fumo and occasionally Primer. I must say, I never really got the hype about the cube interface (yay, it glows!!).
Developing this interface has given me a chance to play around with and learn more about the internal workings of Quicksilver, so I’ll probably be churning out a few more lively interfaces sometime soon.

I would love to see the full implementation of the Fumo interface. I think it’s very nice looking and would be a joy to use!

Just tried it out and love it! It’s a little weird because I’m used to the bezel interface being stuck right in the middle of my screen where I can see it, but the whole thing is very pretty and I like the way the actions pane doesn’t take up so much room. Very good work. I’m looking forward to the full implementation.

Thanks Chris, thanks Beezum.
You can drag the interface onto the middle of the screen if that’s what you prefer.
The full implementation will be much better, I assure you.
